Mama-Eya Outing...

It was an impulse decision. We went to had a nice breakfast with hubby at first. Then, hubby went to work and the both of us had nothing to do.

So, I decided to bring Eya to watch movie or just doing window shopping. The nearest place to go was Jusco Cheras Selatan. I browsed around Jusco to shop for my home knick-knack for a while before Eya pestered me to bring her to watch 'wayang'. So, I bought 2 tickets for Cloudy Chance of Meatballs.

She really enjoyed the movie and later told me that she wanted to watch another movie with her ayah. After the movie ended, we went back to Jusco to continue our window shopping before we went for lunch.

She ordered chocolate pearl bubble tea for lunch and fries. She was quite exhausted after lunch and wanted to go home but I need to do my grocery shopping. So, I found the trolley for her and continued with my shopping.

We spent almost 4 hours together and it was so fun. She went to bed early that day and I bet she know that going window shopping with her mum is a tiring task.

Keds and lot of bracelets...

What was the happiest shopping moment during my trip to Bangkok?

Its when I discovered Siam Paragon does sell Keds shoes. I love flat shoes, in fact, now I have 6 of them . Mostly are Nike as they have nice flat shoes. So, once when I was web surfing, I found out that a US brand, Keds produce flat shoes.

So, I tried to ask hubby to persuade his friend in US to buy it from me as the brand is not available in Malaysia. But, his friend will be there for 5 years, so I need to wait for some years before I be able to wear it.

I never thought I could find it. So, during the trip, when I found Keds is being sold there, without any hesitation, I decided to buy it. The choice was not that many but I bought one. Even my lil sis bought one for her. So, now I have an extra pair of Keds.

The two pair of Keds...

The other highlight of my trip was to Platinum Shopping mall where I found a small shop selling bracelets. This shopping complex is known for it wholesales trade so mostly everything are cheap. All the bracelets and necklaces is similar quality and look to Diva's and DP merchandise but with very low prices. Usually DP or Diva bracelet cost about RM20 for the simplest bracelet but here you can get one for only RM3. So, I bought every colour of bracelet that I could find. It was such a happy day for me.

Now, I have complete collection of every colors for my bracelet combined with a few from my sis. Even my bracelet tree could not handle all the weight. I need to find a new tree for all those new bracelets.

Our Treasure...

Me and hubby are avid movie lovers. Now, with Eya, we rarely go to cinema as it will be unfair to her. We simply cannot leave her while ourselves enjoying movie or shopping. Every where we go, we need to bring her. Even if I go to a work retreat or anything, I still need to bring her and when there's Eya, hubby must be there too.

The solution of not having the chance of watching movie in cinema, is too buy dvds. For some Malay movies, I prefer to buy it at Speedy. I don't simply watch any Malay movies. The movie that I love is Chief Kodok's or Y.A. movies. And now, I also like Mamat Khalid's movies. These people are so creative. Almost every new movie that they produce, the storyline is some what different from the typical Malay movies. You cannot predict what happen in the end.

So, for other movies especially English movies, I have to buy it from my dealer. Where is it? I really cannot reveal the place here as the spot is quite popular with the so-called police. Why I buy my stocks there? For the money I spent, I would got A-class movie, not cinema copy, not movie without voices, clear movies and worth the money.

Although, I do buy my DVDs using this method but for some movies, I would only watch it in cinema. Blockbuster movies or movies with Will Smith in it, I would watch it on the big screen. I have to support my boyfriend.

We buy our DVDs almost every week, 5-6 movies per visit. Due to our interest and passion of watching movies, now we got our own collection. Me and my brother.

DVDs that we purchased are the one in the plastic cover. So, my brother, being passionate about the collection, went to buy the black box. We transferred all the DVDs into the box. Now, we have almost 200 DVDs. I simply didn't want to count how many have we spent on the DVDs alone.

As the DVDs no longer can be kept in a box, Abo decided to buy DVD rack. For this, we went to IKEA to buy it. As IKEA do have special-made DVD rack, which by the way was very cheap, we bought 4 of it. Each rack can accommodate 100 DVDS, which means to fill it up, we have another 200 DVDs to purchase in the future. Abo, Adib and Betis helped to assemble the rack.

Abo and Nini also had downloaded several tv series and burned it. So, now we have quite a good collection of tv series and DVDs.

Shopping for kain raya

I was not a baju kurung lover. I went to a boarding school and they had prep class for us. I must wear baju kurung all the time, during school hours or during prep class. Because of this, I didnt like to wear baju kurung.

The only exception is during Hari Raya, weddings( but now sometimes I do wear long blouse with slacks as it quite hard to carry Eya wearing baju kurung) or any official events. Even at work, I try not to wear baju kurung except if I have classes or any formal events requiring me to wear it.

So, the point here is I only buy baju kurung material once a year. How many will I buy? Not many actually. My priority is for 1st Hari Raya. As usual, my family will set a theme color. Last year, it was purple and my family blamed me for it as last year a lot of family did chose purple as their color too. For this year, we decided to go with blue. BTW, we need to choose a color that hubby already have.

Yes, my dear hubby also does not like to wear baju melayu. See, a match made in heaven. He had made quite a lot of them during our wedding, about 4 colors and he only wear them during Hari raya. So, every time we decide on the colors, we have to choose a color from his baju melayu collection.

But, its okay since my family only likes a few colors. Among the colors we have chose before are

  • red
  • earth
  • blue
  • purple
  • black
We would never choose green, grey, orange, pink or brown.

As I have extra one-day holiday, I decided to buy the material. We went to Jln TAR and searched for our kain. Gulati's did not have new kain and most of what they was selling, we already had. We only bought Japanese cotton but it was pricey (but it was so pretty) and we really wanted to buy it.

We went to another store and we did all of our purchases there. I bought mom one set for her and another for me. The total of my purchase that day was so unbelievable but it was a once-a-year purchase so I think it was ok.

In total, I bought 3 sets for me, mom had 4 and adik got 3 kain. Not forgetting Eya, who also got 1 set for her. Now, I have to go and collect money to repay back the money I had used.

The final HP book

Yay, I finally got my hands on the last Harry Potter book. Before the release of it on 21st July 2007, I decided to wait and queue for it at 6 a.m. just for the book.I didn't pre-order the book as the price they set was quite high and the price is not being determined yet by that time. I thought that Malaysian are not that fanatic compared to other part of the world. As my plan to wake up at 6 a.m. failed, I went to Midveli to get the book and at the same time to do some shopping. I arrived there around 12.00 pm and straight went to MPH. I noticed that there was no new HP book on the promotion counter or at the shelves. I asked one of the MPH staffs and they said that for that day, the book was only being sold to pre-order customers. He said that try go to Carrefour if you want the book.Hearing that, I some sort of running to Carrefour downstairs and grabbed a copy of it. By that time, there was not that many people buying the book as a lot of them went to MPH. To my surprise the book price is RM69.90 which is much cheaper than MPH, at RM109.90. It was such a relief. If I pre-order, I need to buy it at a much higher price. The next day newspaper, said there was a price war between Hypermarket and the 3 big bookstore, MPH, Popular and Times Bookstore. Really, I don't care about the price war or about their decision to withdraw back the book. The most important thing is I managed to buy the book a cheaper price.

Eya got a new chair

Since Eya started to eat cereal, we feed her by placing her on the bouncer. Now that is a little tricky as she moves a lot and that makes it harder to feed her.She also cannot be left alone playing on her playmat while we are having dinner as she would scream until someone pick her up. To overcome these problems, we decided to buy her a highchair. The only highchair that seem simple, practical and not that costly is Ikea highchair. As usual, before we buy anything for her, we have to try it on her first. We put her in it and she likes it so much that she scream when we took her out of it. Thats the signal that the purchase will not be wasted. The only cons is we don't think that the highchair can last long as it is quite small. I think we need to buy a new one next year.

Crocs...

Some of you may have seen this item before and you think its weird for anyone who wears it. At first, I thought people who buy this shoes is wasting his/her money as the shoes look so weird. I went to the Crocs @ The Curve just to try out the shoes a few weeks ago. Althought it was weird in looks, in terms of comfy, YES, its really light and comfy. Then, last week, after the lunch with my mom, we decided to test the Crocs again. After the tryout session, me, hubby and Nini decided to buy it. Although, I might regret this decision, I decided just to buy it as it is real comfy and nice to wear it. It is best used when going for vacation.

The New Snapper

Me, Nini and Abo decided to replace the old camera which was broken due to some people fault. I sent it for repair at Canon HQ and the techie told me it going to cost me around RM800. He told me it was better to get a new camera than to repair the old one. The old camera (Bye Bye Camera blog) was a Powershot A520. For the new one, we decided to buy Powershot again, A550 as the price was a little bit cheaper than A540, as I did my comparison in the Canon website. Olympus was kind of nice also but it use the xD memory card, which according to hubby, it is kind of pricey. We went to buy the camera at Sg Wang and there was no stock. We surveyed around and found this one camera shop which sells the camera at RM595. I looked around and saw that A540 was cheaper than A550. I compared both the camera and Abo decided to buy the A540. It was cheaper than the price shown at the website. The three of us + mom shared to buy it. The camera will be kept in a secret place so only the three of us know the place. For the old camera, it will be kept nicely as it was something bought using mom retirement gratuity. Really felt sorry for mom as she loved the camera so much.

Get set...go

As I mentioned earlier in the previous post, I went to MV to do some shopping. It turned out that everybody also did their bit in shopping. Here are the list of shopping did by them:

Adik

  • A pair of Levi's jean
  • A Puma sneakers (orange)
  • RISK board game (present to Abo)

Nana

  • A Converse shoes(pink)
Mak

  • A pair of Ipanema slipper
  • A Hush Puppies shoes (present for last year birthday)
Abo

  • He was the one who want to shops for sneaker and shoes but couldn't find any (he has an extreme difficult taste when it comes to buy shoes, really hard to find one that he likes). Anyway, does any of you knows where to find Adidas Samba, he is looking for this one...

Look, what hubby bought for us....

Hubby just got some extra money. He decided to spend some of it on me and Eya. I thought I could buy a new handbag, purse or maybe a new watch. We went to Midvalley to do the shopping and after some surveying, I finally found the bag at Metrojaya. As for Eya, hubby bought her a Fisher-price play gym at Jusco. Its called Miracle & Milestones, 3-in-1 gym. You can change locations and positions of all four stimulating toys, or add other ones for new ways to play. At first, I afraid that it might be a waste since Eya only likes to play with her Dino.

Shopping for Eya

I came back from office last Tuesday and found out that Along and her wife bought Eya a lot of new clothes. She said there was a sale at World of Cartoon at Aman Puri. All the clothes was discounted at 60-70%. My mom asked me to buy Eya some more new clothes although I had purchased 3 pairs at Sogo in the weekend. I agreed and asked Along to drive me there. A lot of the clothes were Pooh and Baby Looney tunes but I end up buying the whole lot, Pooh clothes. I spent around RM120 and mom, another RM50. We got almost 10++pairs of clothes including a denim jumper and a corduroy jumper. It was a worthy buy. Because of this impulse shopping, I think I have to wait for another 2 month before starting buying Eya new clothes.

Bye Bye Friend

Handphone is a necessity for everyone. If you ask even a 6 years old kid, I bet they sure must own a handphone. My little sister, Nini had a phone but the condition was so bad that it did not have a cover. Luckily it was 3310, which is known for its durability.I don't know how she did it but she succesfully persuaded my mom to buy her a new phone. The trigger factor: we saw e-Buzz that afternoon and the host is promoting Sony Ericcson Z610i. We love the moving display of text on the cover.Unfortunately, when we checked Utopia mag, we found out that the price is RM1000++. I told my mom to buy a cheaper phone as the price is not suitable for a girl that age. Even me, cannot afford the phone and it looked not as nice in the tv.

We decided to buy the phone the next day at Sg Wang Plaza. The place was so not suitable for Eya due to the lack of bench/chair to relax or a baby room, and of course the crowd of people. I had to feed her throughout the journey there so that she will sleep all the time during the phone buying process. We also had to carry her as stroller was a definitely no-no at Sg Wang. She being a good girl stay asleep during the time we were there.

Although Nini was the one who gonna buy the phone, I was also interested in getting a new phone. At first, the ultimate choice is Motorola L7 but when the salesperson demo it, the interface was not that good. The only weakness of Motorola.

Then, suddenly I looked at a Sony Ericsson model and I think I fell in love with it. It look quite similar to hubby phone, K700i but it seem my phone is a newer model in the market. Although it may be new to me, it still could not beat the Sony Ericsson Walkman range phone.(My dream phone!!!)The price was a little bit lower than my sis, which at the end bought a Nokia phone for herself. The model? Don't ask, Nokia model is so confusing nowadays.

Another thing added to my list of debt.
